The Berlin Redcoats will head out on the road to  take on  the Southington Blue Knights  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  contest.
Berlin is headed into the  match having just  suffered their biggest  loss since October 9th on Friday. They lost  3-0 to Maloney. The Redcoats have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 Berlin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-23,  25-20.

 The losing side was boosted by   Ava Gombotz, who  had 16  digs. She has been hot recently, having  posted 14 or more  digs the last four times she's  played.
Meanwhile, Southington faced Glastonbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blue Knights took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guardians.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 17-25,  25-22.
 Berlin will have to contain  Paige Raines as she made an impact in Southington's last game. She  had 19  digs and one assist.
 Berlin's record is now 18-7. As for Southington, their record now sits at 15-10-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Monday's  matchup:  Berlin has really dialed in their serving  this season,  having  averaged 12.4  aces per game. However, it's not like Southington struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 10.2  aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Berlin suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Southington  when the teams last played  on October 9th. Can the Redcoats avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
