Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Portsmouth

When it comes to explaining why Fairmont lost, don't look at Kaylah Thornton. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Thornton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Nico Cornett was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Portsmouth's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Fairmont, with the loss, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-1.

Portsmouth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-42 win against Lakota West on the 20th. Fairmont has also already played their next game, a 54-42 defeat against Notre Dame Academy on the 20th.
