Basketball Game Preview: Cordova Wolves vs. Houston Mustangs

The Cordova Wolves just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Houston Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Cordova came up short against Germantown and fell 42-33. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Houston faced Memphis Home Education Association in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Houston managed a 60-54 victory over Memphis Home Education Association. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Houston pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Cordova, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Cordova came out on top in a nail-biter against Houston when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 84-82. Will Cordova repeat their success, or does Houston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
