Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Northridge Vikings

The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets and the Northridge Vikings will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mt. Vernon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Licking Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 50-48. The loss was the Yellowjackets' first of the season.

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Northridge, as they earned their first road win of the season. They managed a 40-35 win over Utica on Saturday.

Northridge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1.

Mt. Vernon lost to Northridge on the road by a decisive 69-53 margin in their previous matchup back in February. Can Mt. Vernon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
