Softball Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry extended their losing streak to ten on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-10. They lost 15-3 to the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 on Tuesday.

As for Caledonia-Mumford, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Caledonia-Mumford's part, Grace Beach was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Beach was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Caledonia-Mumford got a massive performance out of Mia Wilson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Colleen Talty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will face off against Keshequa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they will challenge Hornell at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
