Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Palmer Trinity had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Miami Country Day Spartans with a sharp 10-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mela Fajardo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Callie Crews also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Fajardo wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palmer Trinity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Country Day only managed three hits.

Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Miami Country Day, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Palmer Trinity will take on Oxbridge Academy in a tournament on Friday. Oxbridge Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Miami Country Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Immaculata-La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
