Softball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights

The Springfield Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Springfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Springfield didn't have quite enough to beat Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove and fell 9-7.

Faye Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Meanwhile, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Le Sueur-Henderson on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Springfield has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial fell to 9-1.
