Recap: Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators vs. South Baldwin Christian Academy Knights
The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators were the 72-41 winner over the South Baldwin Christian Academy Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Gulf Pointe Latin was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 50-49 to South Baldwin Christian Academy. Gulf Pointe Latin just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Gulf Pointe Latin still got an impressive performance from Micah Crumpler, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crumpler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Aikins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Gulf Pointe Latin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for South Baldwin Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Pointe Latin and Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Baldwin Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atmore Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
