Football Game Preview: Mater Academy Charter Lions vs. Jackson Generals

The Mater Academy Charter Lions will head out to face off against the Jackson Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mater Academy Charter's defense has only allowed 9.7 points per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mater Academy Charter made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Immaculata-La Salle, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Royal Lions by a score of 21-18 on Friday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Mater Academy Charter might have lost, but man, Dontavious Kinchens was a machine: he rushed for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 143 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Key West and fell 54-6. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Conchs are ranked 174th).
