Soccer Game Preview: Camden vs. Richland Northeast

The Camden Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Richland Northeast Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

Camden came up short against A.C. Flora on Tuesday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Camden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 156th, while A.C. Flora are ranked 49th).

Camden's goal came courtesy of Conner Jones, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Richland Northeast played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they were looking for. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Richland Northeast who was credited with the victory. Richland Northeast got it done in the shootout by posting six goals to South Pointe's five.

Camden's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Richland Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Everything went Camden's way against Richland Northeast in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Camden made off with a 3-0 victory. Does Camden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richland Northeast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
