Basketball Recap: Manhattan Comes Up Short

Manhattan lost against Blue Valley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Manhattan Indians lost to the Blue Valley Tigers at home by a 64-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Tigers are ranked 21st).

Manhattan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Blue Valley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manhattan will face off against Topeka at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blue Valley, they will welcome Washburn Rural at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matchups.
