Basketball Recap: American Prep WV Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, American Prep WV couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a hard 58-44 fall against the Kanab Cowboys on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

American Prep WV's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Kanab, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

American Prep WV won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Sevier at 12:50 p.m. on Friday. As for Kanab, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge American Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with American Leadership Academy sitting on 12 straight wins and Kanab on seven.
