Preview: Bronaugh Wildcats vs. Pierce City Eagles
The Bronaugh Wildcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pierce City Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on January 16th. Bronaugh has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Bronaugh scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenfield 101-63 on the road. Bronaugh has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 31 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bronaugh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Strauss Banes, who almost dropped a triple-double on 39 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Banes has scored all season. Tucker Duncan was another key contributor, scoring 33 points along with four steals.
Pierce City suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a rough 60-40 defeat at the hands of College Heights Christian. Pierce City has not had much luck with College Heights Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Bronaugh's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Pierce City, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Bronaugh might still be hurting after the 58-33 loss they got from Pierce City when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Bronaugh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
