After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bibb County, Holt was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 39-7 victory over the Pickens Academy Pirates. The Ironmen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Pickens Academy lost, don't look at Griffin Hudson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 95 yards and one TD.

With the win, Holt broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Pickens Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Holt will challenge Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pickens Academy, after each having a week off, they and Belgreen will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
