With a playoff win on the line, Owasso rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Jenks Trojans 39-36. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Owasso's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Hall, who rushed for 101 yards and two scores, and also caught one TD. Hall's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season. Drew Frankenfield was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Owasso, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cole Campbell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Owasso's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Jenks, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.
Looking ahead, Owasso will be playing in front of their home fans against Bixby at 7:00 p.m. on December 6. The Rams will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Jenks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
