Soccer Recap: Licking Valley vs. Mt. Vernon
If Licking Valley was feeling good fresh off their 8-3 takedown of Sheridan last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Licking Valley Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August.
Licking Valley dropped their record down to 7-7-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Licking Valley will face off against Zanesville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will challenge Heath at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
