Baseball Recap: Maine West Comes Up Short

Maine West made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Glenbrook South, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Julian Delao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Maine West's loss dropped their record down to 8-20-1. As for Glenbrook South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maine West will head out to take on Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenbrook South, they will venture away from home to challenge Grayslake Central at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
