Basketball Recap: Arleta's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Arleta had lost five straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-5 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the WISH Academy Owls 69-45. The Mustangs pushed the score to 55-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Owls cut but never quite recovered from.

Having lost for the first time this season, WISH Academy fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

WISH Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicholas Nakada, who posted 11 points. Noah Tureaud was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Looking ahead, Arleta will square off against Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for WISH Academy, they will challenge Animo Pat Brown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
