Kenston dropped their record down to 14-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the South Rebels by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in April.
As for South, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.
For South's part, the team relied heavily on Mariya Reed, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave Reed a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Janson, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenston will square off against Chardon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hawken at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
