Basketball Recap: Darby Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Darby Tigers lost to the Powell County Wardens on the road by a 48-33 margin. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Powell County to victory were Jarrett Pennington and Shawn Lombardi. Pennington went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points and seven boards, while Lombardi went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points. Kaiden Beck was another key player, putting up two points and six rebounds.

Darby's defeat dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Powell County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Darby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-43 loss against Florence-Carlton on the 23rd.
