Volleyball Recap: North Chicago Comes Up Short at Home Against Antioch

North Chicago unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Antioch Sequoits by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Warhawks have struggled against the Sequoits recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, North Chicago sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Justin Ayala and Hugo Vences, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Jose Vences and his 11 assists. Hugo also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Brian Bueno, racking up three apiece.

North Chicago has already played their next contest (against Grant Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Antioch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Deerfield on the 3rd.
