Baseball Game Preview: Cardinal Huskies vs. St. John Heralds

The Cardinal Huskies will face off against the St. John Heralds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cardinal might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-4 to Harvey, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. John never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Edgewood 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Heralds, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.

St. John got a massive performance out of Jack Collins, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those three hits gave Collins a new career-high. Brady Cole was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. John always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edgewood only posted an OBP of .294.

St. John is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
