Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Family Takes a Loss

If Cornerstone Family was feeling good fresh off their 62-30 takedown of Heritage Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cornerstone Family Saints lost 49-28 to Smoky Valley Home Educators on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Smoky Valley Home Educators are ranked 103rd).

Cornerstone Family's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Smoky Valley Home Educators, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Family will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wichita Defenders HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on February 28th. Smoky Valley Home Educators does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
