Softball Recap: Lansing Finds Playoff Glory Versus Sidney

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lansing had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Sidney Team 20-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since April 28th.

Kennedy Perine was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Marissa Nolan was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lansing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lansing's victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1. As for Sidney, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Lansing will square off against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Sidney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
