Baseball Game Preview: Muleshoe Mules vs. Dimmitt Bobcats

The Muleshoe Mules are taking a road trip to face off against the Dimmitt Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Muleshoe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Muleshoe made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Slaton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Muleshoe's way against Slaton on Monday as Muleshoe made off with a 14-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mules, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Yahir Quezada and Julian Vargas did most of the damage at the plate: Quezada got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Vargas scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Quezada is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Donovan Moreno was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dimmitt duked it out with Idalou on Monday. Dimmitt lost 19-3 to Idalou. The Bobcats have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Dimmitt's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Muleshoe, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Muleshoe suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Dimmitt when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Muleshoe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
