Orange Vista is 5-0 against Canyon Springs since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Orange Vista Coyotes will head out on the road to challenge the Canyon Springs Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Monday, Orange Vista needed a bit of extra time to put away Northwood. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-69 win over the Timberwolves. Winning may never get old, but the Coyotes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Orange Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrian Viray out in front who went 7 for 12 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Smith, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.
Orange Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Canyon Springs beat Burroughs 66-56 on Saturday.
Orange Vista better keep an eye on Tyler Vann. He was instrumental in Canyon Springs' win, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Vann has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Serrato, who posted 13 points and three steals.
Orange Vista is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Canyon Springs, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Orange Vista and Canyon Springs are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Orange Vista hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.8 points per game. However, it's not like Canyon Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Orange Vista against Canyon Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 71-42 victory. Will Orange Vista repeat their success, or does Canyon Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
