Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 79-56 to the Dawson Springs Panthers. The Warriors were down 67-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Dawson Springs had a senior duo take command as Montgomery Johnston dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds and Rex Blue went 5 of 7 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The matchup was Blue's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Dever, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Community Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Dawson Springs, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Christian will square off against Fort Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dawson Springs, they will face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
