Wilder extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-9. They lost 18-7 to the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-4 last Tuesday.

Natalie Escutia was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last five games she's played.
As for Horseshoe Bend, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
On Horseshoe Bend's side, Kimber Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trin Catherman, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinzee Ranft, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Looking ahead, Wilder will square off against Idaho City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Idaho City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.13 runs per game on average), something Wilder will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Horseshoe Bend, they will host Glenns Ferry at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilots have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
