Basketball Recap: Derryfield Comes Up Short

Derryfield entered their match against Merrimack Valley on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Derryfield Cougars lost 57-35 to the Merrimack Valley Pride. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since March 2, 2024.

Derryfield's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 14-1 and their overall record down to 14-2. As for Merrimack Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derryfield will challenge Milford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Merrimack Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
