Football Game Preview: Groton School vs. Middlesex

Groton School will face off against Middlesex at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Groton School took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-7 victory over St. George's. The win was all the more spectacular given Groton School's disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 248th in Massachusetts, while St. George's is ranked 34th in Rhode Island).

Meanwhile, Middlesex hadn't done well against Roxbury Latin recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Middlesex strolled past Roxbury Latin with points to spare, taking the game 30-14.

Groton School's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Middlesex, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
