Volleyball Recap: Castle View Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Arvada West

Castle View faced Arvada West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Sabercats fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Sabercats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Austin Keathley paced Castle View's offense, picking up 11 kills. Keathley got some help from Rowan Shaughnessy and his 15 assists. Finally, Cyrus Grundemann kept Castle View's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Castle View's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Arvada West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Castle View has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against ThunderRidge on the 15th. As for Arvada West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Poudre on the 15th.
