Volleyball Recap: Montini Catholic Comes Up Short

Montini Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marmion Cadets. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cadets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Montini Catholic couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Marmion a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 33-35, 25-20, 25-13.

Montini Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Marmion, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-17 record this season.

Montini Catholic and Marmion are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Broncos will challenge Neuqua Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marmion, they will face off against West Aurora at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
