Corona had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Hillcrest Trojans out 3-2. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Trojans are ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corona's win bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Hillcrest, they now have a losing record at 3-4-3.

Corona will take on Bishop Montgomery in a tournament on Friday. As for Hillcrest, they are taking a road trip to face off against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest is facing Heritage at the right time seeing as Heritage is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
