Football Recap: Lapeer Victorious

Lapeer and Saginaw United pushed the score to 56-12 the last time they played Saginaw United, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Lightning strolled past Saginaw United with points to spare, taking the game 21-6. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Saginaw United are ranked 292nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lapeer's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Saginaw United, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lapeer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 47-28 victory against Carman-Ainsworth on the 19th. As for Saginaw United, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-12 loss against Marquette on the 19th.
