Preview: Colleton County Cougars vs. Bluffton Bobcats
The Colleton County Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bluffton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Colleton County's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Bluffton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Even though Colleton County has not done well against May River recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Colleton County walked away with a 61-52 victory over May River.
Mykeem Gant continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. Brian Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Bluffton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against James Island, falling 63-35. Bluffton has not had much luck with James Island recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Colleton County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Bluffton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Colleton County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Bluffton in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bluffton's Jaylin Linder, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds.
