Softball Recap: Port of Los Angeles Find Success

Port of Los Angeles won the last time they faced King/Drew and things went their way on Monday too. The Polar Bears came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Polar Bears.

Jimena Vargas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rochelle Watkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Port of Los Angeles now has a winning record of 5-4. As for King/Drew, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
