St. Ignatius College Preparatory and Valley Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory managed to slip by Saint Francis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 28-7 to the Lancers on Friday. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 34-29 to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory will have to keep a close watch on Riley Mcelvane and Suliasi Maulamanga, a pair of players who had a big impact on Valley Christian's prior game. Mcelvane picked up 85 receiving yards and three TDs, while Maulamanga threw for 189 yards on 14 of 23 attempts.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 20-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
