Basketball Game Preview: East Newton Patriots vs. McDonald County Mustangs

The East Newton Patriots will head out to take on the McDonald County Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, East Newton earned a 53-41 win over Monett. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Meanwhile, McDonald County came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 65-53 victory over Lamar back in December of 2024.

East Newton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for McDonald County, they now have a winning record of 1-0.

East Newton came up short against McDonald County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 51-46. Can East Newton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
