Soccer Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the Jay Mustangs who were credited with the win on Thursday. The Jay Mustangs got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to the Southside Cardinals's seven. Even if the Cardinals couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

This is the second loss in a row for Southside and nudges their season record down to 2-4-3. As for Jay, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing South San Antonio the next time they take the pitch. Jay will head out to face South San Antonio at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while Southside will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
