Baseball Recap: Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Takes a Loss

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-19 in the process. They lost 18-4 to the Win-E-Mac Patriots. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Gust, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Walter Taus also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Win-E-Mac, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Win-E-Mac's side, Owen Strom made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Strom has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Braylon Hamre was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bergen Howard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Badger/Greenbush-Middle River will face off against Roseau at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Win-E-Mac, they will head out on the road to challenge Fosston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
