Baseball Game Preview: O'Neill Raiders vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks

The O'Neill Raiders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

O'Neill is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Tri-Valley. The Raiders skirted past the Bears 5-4.

Meanwhile, Newburgh Free Academy beat Cornwall Central 12-9 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Goldbacks.

Connor Hollenbeck looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Jayden Hines was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. JJ McCoy was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
