Soccer Game Preview: GREEN Upstate vs. Abbeville

The GREEN Upstate Owls will square off against the Abbeville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

GREEN Upstate is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Dixie just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. The game was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but GREEN Upstate couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Abbeville). Their defense stepped up to hand Ware Shoals a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday. Carter Oberholzer was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

GREEN Upstate's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Abbeville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

GREEN Upstate took their win against Abbeville in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 4-1 score. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
