Baseball Game Preview: Van Buren County Eagles vs. Campbell County Cougars

The Van Buren County Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Campbell County Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Van Buren County has four straight wins, Campbell County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Van Buren County was the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Cosby. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for Van Buren County this season.

Meanwhile, Campbell County came up short against Morristown-Hamblen East on Friday and fell 10-7.

Van Buren County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Campbell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
