Baseball Game Preview: Charleston Trojans vs. Robinson Maroons

Charleston is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Robinson a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Charleston Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Robinson Maroons at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Clay/Clay City hit Charleston with a seven-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans lost 8-2 to North Clay/Clay City.

Charleston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Bonnstetter, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Robinson couldn't beat Dieterich on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Maroons took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Movin Maroons.

AJ Knoblett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brysen Legg, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Charleston, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Charleston came out on top in a nail-biter against Robinson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
