Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Comes Up Short

Sports Leadership & Management played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 80-44 defeat at the hands of the Sabino Sabercats. The Bulls were down 59-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Sports Leadership & Management still got an impressive performance from Damien Nevil, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Ross, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Caden Watkins was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine assists for Sabino. Watkins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Stevens, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points.

Sports Leadership & Management dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Sabino, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Sports Leadership & Management didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-70 defeat against Capistrano Valley Christian on the 21st. As for Sabino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-53 victory against Mary Star of the Sea on the 20th.
