Softball Game Preview: Palatine Pirates vs. Fremd Vikings

Palatine has won three straight games at home, while Fremd has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Pirates will host the Vikings at 4:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Palatine earned a 7-3 victory over Hoffman Estates.

Meanwhile, Fremd never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Conant as they made off with an 8-0 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Palatine is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Fremd, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Palatine skirted past Fremd 4-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
