Mitchell hadn't done well against Watertown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Kernels were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Arrows. Winning may never get old, but the Kernels sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Mitchell didn't let Watertown take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 27-25.

Audrey Miller paced Mitchell's offense, picking up 12 kills. Miller got some help from Addie Siemsen and her 24 assists. Kenna Soulek controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Watertown, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mitchell will challenge rival Aberdeen Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Watertown is set to square off against their familiar foe Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
