Baseball Game Preview: Bremen Braves vs. Munster Mustangs

The Bremen Braves will head out to take on the Munster Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Bremen nor Thornton Fractional South made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Red Wolves a 3-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.

Not much got past Aiden Gonzales, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Thornton Fractional South off the board. Gonzales has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Geraldo Ramos and Jaime Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Ramos went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Martinez got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Martinez has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Munster and Illiana Christian finished up their game with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Bremen's win bumped their record up to 14-16. With that tie, Munster's record moves to 15-11-1.

Bremen suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Munster in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
