Softball Recap: Capital's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Capital was riding high fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Pocatello on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Capital took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garfield Bulldogs on Friday. The matchup marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Olivia Stone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Chavez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Stone wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Capital kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Capital fell to 5-1. As for Garfield, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Capital has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 win against Caldera on the 21st. As for Garfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 loss against Rocky Mountain on the 21st.
