Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Trail Wins Going Away Against Prairie View

Santa Fe Trail never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Prairie View Buffalos as they made off with a 10-0 win. That's two games straight that the Chargers have won by exactly ten runs.

Hunter French was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Santa Fe Trail is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise. French was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tanner Sleichter was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Bryson Crotinger, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Santa Fe Trail was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Santa Fe Trail's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Prairie View, they dropped their record down to 0-4-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Santa Fe Trail will head out to take on St. Marys at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Prairie View, they will host Iola at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
